Ryu || Dietrich || Desmond

Ryu: Walking into the F rank sector of the base, The redhead looked around the busy floor. "......Why am I down here again?...." He asked himself as he walks to a wall and leaned his back against it as he watched the new members talk and get to know each other. "Oh that's right......To help with any questions...." Sometimes it hurts to be one of the highest ranking members but it's not all fun and murder. Sighing heavily, he closed his eyes and went into a little form of meditation as he waited on someone to bother him.

Dietrich: He didn't think much about where he stood in life, or what was going to happen next. Trying to speculate on things like that would only end up depressing. It was much easier to just set a little goal up in the road ahead, and then walk towards it. Things got done that way. He didn't talk to others much. He didn't feel like socializing. Other rabbits sharing with each other where they came from and how they ended up in the same boat. None of it appealed to him. Where he came from didn't really matter anymore. So, he spent his time occupying the couch in the F-rank lounge. Sometimes sitting up, but sometimes lying down, like now. He rested on his side, clad in denim jeans and an undershirt, staring at the far wall. The white noise of idle chatter served as fuel to propel his wandering thoughts as they bounced from no particular subject to another. Until he detected another set of feet. His head turned autonomously, and he looked backwards over his shoulder from his position on the couch. A new face. Hair as red as a permanent marker. It attracted his attention. He sat upright, swinging his legs over and placing them on the floor, and gave Ryu a good look-over.

Desmond: Everything around me was a blur of fur and speech, clogging up my eardrums like cotton. I couldn’t tell you just how many people I’d checked up on today, and if you asked I’d just get lost. Every opening was the same. There would be your handful of decently normal folks, and then you’d have the hyperactive sugar addicts quite literally bouncing at your door. Just today I was poked and prodded seventeen times before I could even utter a please sit down. And I thought pediatric care was bad. I sighed, exiting the infirmary for the first time since four a.m. Maybe I’d actually be able to get some lunch. If I’m lucky a— gasp— nap. My cane clicked against the concrete floor, echoing along with the many voices of the new members lining up in front of the door. It’s a good thing I’ve gotten fast on my feet, er, foot. The doctor is OUT, folks. Check in later when I’m not four minutes past cannibalism. However, I nodded to them all kindly, calling out “Understaffed,” and “Back later.” at the top of my lungs as I burrowed my way through the crowd. Damn, now I know why Ryu said he never came down here. Speaking of which, isn’t that him now? I waddled towards him at a breakneck pace, huffing as I waved off a few last stragglers. Nevermind out, the doctor is dead. You killed him. Good job. “Ryu?” I said, waving at him. “You’re a sight for sore eyes.” I backed up against the sofa, smiling briefly at the man on the couch. Here’s to hoping he came in unharmed.

Ryu: Feeling a pair of eyes fixed on him, Ryu groaned slightly and opened his own to narrow slits as he looked for the person who wanted to bore a hole into his entire being. Looking over to the person, he twitched his ears in curiosity. Seems like his first 'pupil' locked onto Ryu. He can already imagine all the 'good times' he's going to have showing this person around. The thought of it all made Ryu want to crawl into bed and take a couple of sick days. "Are you just going to keep staring or say something?....." Straightening up his posture, he looked over to the door and saw a familiar face walk in. Thank goodness. "I can say the same thing for you pegleg....How goes it?”

Dietrich: His brow lowered and his gaze hardened for a split second, seeming to mirror the red-head's apparent disgust, before shifting his attention to someone else. Someone that had a part missing. He didn't return the smile. But he gave a silent nod, to show he'd received it, and that he was alive. Idly, he wondered if his future held similar struggles. He didn't doubt that it would. He shifted one leg over the other, letting it hang off of his opposing knee, as he observed the commencing conversation between the two. He figured that later he might try to channel some emotion into a poem. That was bound to be more productive than sitting like an android in Power-Save waiting for someone more important than him to come along and give him more papers to sign, give him some form on command input to spur his legs and hands into motion.

Desmond: What, was he too good for us? I squinted a bit, taking in a deep breath as I tried to calm my fragile resolve. Well, if he didn’t want to talk I wouldn’t make him. I’m not exactly in a conversive mood anyway. “Oh, I’m fine, just feeling a bit like a bulldozer ran over me but I’m sure you know how that feels.” I looked around at all the new members. “Let me guess, you’re part of the welcome wagon? I thought you’d be too important to spare, but I suppose it’s nice to have an older member show people the ranks.” I took another glance over at the silent one. He looked bored and empty. Guess he’ll fit right in. “Should I ask what your name is, or will you just stare at me?”

Ryu: 'Well fuck you too' He growled lowly as he was clearly ignored by the new member. Breathing slow calming breaths, Ryu shook off the irritation he received from the stranger. "Overworked huh?....heheh...we should go get a drink sometime soon or something...." He chuckled and walked over to Desmond. "Yea..I might as well try to welcome some members and not look like I'm slacking off.....Which I never am." He shrugged and watched Desmond talk back to the new member and placed his hands into his pockets. "Yea....I believe you're new....did someone already show you around or are you just going to play the mute card on us....unless you're actually mute then that would be unfortunate.." Shrugs, it's not like he cared anyways.

Dietrich: "It's Dietrich," he stated, after a pause. "I'm sorry if I came off as abrasive.. I don't have a lot to talk about, and you didn't look particularly receptive," he continued, directing his words towards Ryu, "but now you have my name.. ..Since that apparently means so much to you." He had a very distinct German accent. Reasonable, given the name he'd provided. "As for navigation, I think I can learn the floor plan on my own. ..Unless there was anything in particular you wanted to point out? Excluding, of course, the heavy-looking doors with the numerical keypads and card readers.."

Desmond: I crossed my arms and raised my upper lip in disgust. Well this guy wasn’t worth my time. “Great, good to know.” I said, clearing my throat. He’s German, and that tended to bring out my most racist side. Some four-hundred years later and my people still haven’t forgiven you all, and perhaps I now know why. Arrogance seemed to exude from his very pores. “Your apology is accepted. For the moment.” Nazi. I turned back around to Ryu, raising my eyebrows in bewilderment as I mouthed a silent “Okay, then.” and shrugged. “Oh, a drink sounds lovely. And I’d be more than happy to help you with welcoming people— anything to help speed it along.”

Ryu: "Ummm.....first of all, I'd like you to cut the little 'tude you're having there. I don't take kindly to attitudes despite me already having one. Let me tell you a little secret...." He glared at him. "I have quite the temper if you didn't realize that, So I suggest you don't get on my bad side....and Since you seem to have gotten everything down pact already then you made my job waaay easier, So thank you Dietrich..." He nodded his head and looked back at Des. Perhaps he needed a drink much sooner than he thought. "Oh..and since you so kindly introduced yourself...My name is Ryu..."

Dietrich: Ryu was met with more of the same blank stare that he'd worn since he'd arrived. He had his goals. Making friends wasn't one of them. At least, not for the moment. When it was time to walk on eggshells to prevent his natural mannerisms from offending the people in his surroundings, he would. For the time being, he curled the hands on his knees into fists, and turned them into two thumbs-up, before adding a brief afterword. "If there is anything that needs to be done, please, don't hesitate to ask.."

Desmond: I stared at Ryu, biting my lip as he spoke. The intimidation game probably wasn’t his best bet, but he was going for it anyway. Though I currently had no tolerance for bullshit I’d rather keep that to myself. “Sure thing!” I replied with a nod, scratching the back of my neck. I didn’t remember anyone asking him to do anything, but perhaps it was just an offer. Honestly after the day I’ve had I couldn’t reason much. “My name is Desmond, by the way. Desmond Godfrey.” I stretched out my hand, smiling once again. Don’t let the sarcasm get to you. Sure, he blew you off earlier, but so did twenty other people. This isn’t anything new.

Ryu: "I'll keep that in mind..." He sighed. There's no way to get through to him and it's just better just to leave him alone. Whatever question he needed he can ask them or someone else but he looks pretty set. Scratching the back of his head awkwardly, his eyes scanned through the crowd of F-rankers again. They all seem pretty set so maybe there's nothing for him to really do. Ears perking up to Desmond's voice, He watched him stretch his hand out for a handshake. Might as well to see how far this goes. Maybe they'll have a proper conversation soon.

Dietrich: He stared at Desmond's hand for a moment, before taking it firmly within his own. His grip was firm, yet gentle. He shook it once before releasing it. "I suppose you have a right to doubt my sincerity when I say that it is nice to meet you. Talking..isn't very high on my list of priorities.. From the looks of you, I'd guess you can probably imagine what that feels like.."

Desmond: He had a nice handshake, but his hesitance perturbed me. Perhaps it had something to do with his past? I furrowed my brows, pursing my lips as he spoke. I wasn’t sure exactly how to take what he said, but I nodded none the less. “Well, either way it’s nice to meet you.” I guess, after all you are acting rather standoffish. Of course I know how that is, but I eventually grew up out of that myself. Maybe this man will to. I’ll let bygones be bygones for the time being— even if he is German. I put my hands on my hips. “Well, if you don’t want to be bothered I suppose there’s no reason in continuing this conversation. I can respect your silence, even if I do find it rude to be ignored. If you’re ever in any need just find me, I’m up and down these halls all the time.” I turned to Ryu and gave him an understanding stare. “And you— whenever you want to get that drink just ask. I’m always open.” I leaned in a bit, whispering up towards his ear. “Try not to eat the new members. Even the sarcastic ones.” I smirked and grazed by him, walking off down the hallway. I never did get anything to eat.

Ryu: "I might call you for that drink sooner than you think..but we'll talk later.....And I'll try not too....." He sighed and watched him walk off. Now what is there to do?....He can cook something, Find someone else to talk too, maybe go a relax for once or maybe do some training. After careful thought, he decided to go to train instead. "Well....I'm going to do some training and mentor some others...Is there anything you want to ask before I go?..."

Dietrich: He slowly lifted himself off of the couch, leaning back for a moment to adjust his back after remaining sedentary for so long. "Yes," he said, afterward, "would you mind if I joined you?" He paused for another second, gathering his next words carefully. "I suspect that I could use it for what's to come. That is, if I haven't already proven myself to be completely, and utterly, intolerable..?"

Ryu || Tara || Dietrich

Ryu: He was about to walk to the door, but he stopped in his tracks and looked towards Dietrich. "Well....If you want you're free to come with..." He said, walking out of the lounge and down the hall to the training room.

Tara awkwardly studied everything around her. She shifted her weight from heel to heel a bit and tried to hide the fact she was so out of her realm.

Dietrich: He returned to his usual wordless state as he followed Ryu's footsteps down the corridor. He carefully observed his surroundings as they proceeded, a map slowly forming in his mind, which would allow him to move around with greater ease (and fewer minutes spent asking for directions) in the future. As the two of them passed Tara by, his eyes and their hollow, absent stare would lock onto hers for a brief moment in passing. He'd seen a hundred nameless faces that day, so he moved on along with the red-head without thinking about her, moving on auto-pilot.

Ryu: He looked at the girl infront of him and tilted his head. 'Great....Another new member...' But this one looks a tiny bit more friendly then Dietrich. He stopped infront of her. "Are you ok?...You seem a bit lost maybe?...."

Tara: The word lost caused her to twitch. Darn, here she thought she had played the “mysteries new stranger” role quite well… She have a nerves grin with a slight shrug. “Well…I sure as heck don’t know where I am...”

Dietrich: He stopped, standing behind and to the left of his would-be guide. He watched Tara distantly, giving more regard to when the conversation was likely to end, rather than the conversation itself. He held no immediate malice towards her. Training simply held more meaning at the moment. Realizing this, he made an efort to soften his own expression, to at least seem like a living person.

Ryu: "It's only natural you don't...You are a new member after all but I'll help you out with any questions you have...My name is Ryu by the way...What is yours?"

Tara: Although she still couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed, her grin grows bigger. “My names Tara”

Dietrich: He watched her smile. He wondered what events had brought her here, something he hadn't wondered about anyone else yet that day, that left her able to smile like that. To be able to smile that easily. He almost envied her. Though, naturally, he didn't let it show. Same as anything else. He idly locked his knees in preparation for several minutes of idle standing.

Ryu: "The quiet one here is Dietrich....He's another new member like yourself." He motioned towards the man next to him. "I was just about to show him to the training room...Would you like to join us or did you need help finding something..."

Tara: Smiles over at Dietrich and adds a“ Hello,” before turning back to Ryu. “I’m in luck, I wanted to see the training room.” It was a lie…but she really didn’t know where to go. Why didn’t she pay more attention the first day she arrived?

Dietrich: He gave a curt nod in response. So long as he was thinking, he moved the train of thought along, and attempted to guess some things about her, based on her appearance and mannerisms. Though, every time he thought of something, he deemed it baseless, and discarded it. He was in the midst of countless strangers. Nothing could be said for certain about anyone, at present.

Ryu: "Ok then...follow me.." He took off down the hall again and walking into the training room of the floor. Looking around the around, he noticed a couple of bunnies already in the room as they also toured the place. Since they were both F ranked, Ryu couldn't really do much. "Here we are...." Turning around the face them, he stretched slightly. "Soo...what are your professions here?"

Tara: She continues to smile and glance around the room.

Dietrich: He looked Ryu up and down for a moment, before replying. "Am I to take that as an offer? Or are you simply looking to punish my insolence from earlier?" His eyes squinted in the first sign of genuine amusement he'd shown since their meeting several minutes prior.

Ryu: "You can take it as whatever you want really....I'm open to anything right now..." He yawned and looked back at the girl who seemed to be getting alone with her new surroundings quite nicely.

Tara: Everything shiny caught her attention. If most of the stuff weren't sharp and dangerous she'd be bouncing off the walls.

Dietrich: "All right, then," he said, looking past Ryu to observe the training floor and what it held. "What would you like to try first? Assuming, of course, that you have some sort of preference.."

Ryu: "Try first?...Well...I don't feel like using the training weapons...so guess a casual hand to hand spar seems alright..." He said as he walked to the side and removed his swords off his person.

Tara: She looked over to the two who were about to spar.
