Goshinbokuu Guardian: Akira

• Enhanced Strength: Includes upper and lower body strength and enhanced strength in Jaws and hind legs.

• Summoning: Is able to summon Prayer beads from the markings on his body that take refuge around his neck. 
• Special tongues: Is able to communicate with animals and souls.
• Transformation: Is able to transform into a Giant horned Komainu. Also can turn into a tiny puppy version of his true form (Giant Komainu)

• Prayer beads: Is able to summon Prayer beads from the markings on his body that take refuge around his neck. They can be used to form a tiny shield when needed. When he's weak/damaged badly his beads will turn from a green color to a red one. He can also make them appear and disappear when he wants to, even in his other forms.
• Swords: Tamashii (soul) and Ookami (no) kiba (Wolf Fang) Tamashii is a sword that's able harness the energy of souls to strengthen the blade's natural power. When the power is focused, he can swing waves of power from the blade's spiritual power. Ookami no Kiba is a blade made out of a strong wolf demon's fang. It's a strong blade with a sharp edge. He can harness some demonic power in it to strengthen the blades potential.

Akira isn't a talkative person. He rather to get the job done without troubles than to sit around wasting time. He's wary on trusting others and rather stay to himself. Once you gain his trust, he's a loyal and powerful ally.  He's quiet and spends most of his time training and meditating to keep his skills and senses sharpened. He travels often when he's separated from the other guardians and uses this time to look for the scattered shards of the Rokon-no-Tama jewel. When no one is paying much attention to him he often keeps to himself and talks to the soul of his Father. Akira is a man of many secrets but will never let anyone down in a pinch.

"Folklore has it that Inugami can be conjured from a complex and cruel ceremony: A common pet dog must be buried up to his neck, only the head remains free. Then a bowl with food or water must be placed close but in unreachable distance before the snout of the dog. Several days after that, when the dog is about to perish and tortured by hallucinations, his head must be severed and buried beneath a noisy road. After a certain time, head and body must be placed in a well prepared shrine Now an Inugami can be evoked" _-Wikipedia

Akira was born in this gruesome matter. Walking through the spiritual plain, he was alone and confused onto what to do next. He lived the life of a normal Shiba Inu pup, only to have it taken away from him in a cruel way. As he continued on, weeping for his previous masters, He wandered into the lair of a powerful Komainu, A large Lion dog demon with a fierce expression, strong jaws and a beautiful mane. The demon was enraged at the stranger wandering into his lair and urged him to leave at once. Akira whined and confessed to the demon that he had no where else to go and how much he needed someone to help him. Akira told the demon about the way he crossed over into the realm of the dead and the memories he had from his short lived life and the demon felt sympathy towards the poor soul and decided to look after him and raising him like one of it's young.

Akira grew up, learning new things from his new Master/Parental Figure and also discovered new powers about himself that caught him by surprise. He spent time playing with the other souls he encountered and developing strong bonds in the spiritual world. The Komainu though enjoying the pup's company and energy, felt that he was too naive and will not last long in the demon world either if Akira stays in the mindset he had when he was alive. It was then the demon started to train Akira, helping him to understand his powers and to fend off for himself whenever evil presents itself. Akira went from being a brash young pup into a strong Inugami with a new outlook on life. Because of this new change, Demon bestowed onto him two swords that would make great us of his powers: The blades, Tamashii and Ookami no Kiba. Akira was extremely grateful and couldn't wait to use the blades in battle. The Demon warned him that he wasn't yet strong enough to wield them and will get them when he's ready. Akira wondered if he can use what he learned, to become even stronger and to try to impress his "Father" with his new accomplishment. He also wanted those blades more than anything. He set out to challenge a powerful demon and with his cockiness, was getting overwhelmed from the power of his opponent. Sensing his pupil in danger, The Komainu set out to save Akira from his stupid decision, But it came with a cost. When the battle was over, The demon laid on the ground heavily wounded. Akira begged for his forgiveness and holding back all his tears told the dying demon that he can heal him. The Komainu instead of scolding him, licked him gently and told him it was alright.

"My time was coming to a close anyways....Do not cry my child..."

"It was my fault! I'm sorry father...All..I wanted to do want to make you proud....and become stronger....I'M SORRY...PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ME!"

"I taught you everything already....and plus you didn't need me to be anymore proud of you than I already am.....As...I part form this world...I leave with you with one final lesson....True strength....comes from with..in...."

The demon rose it's giant paw and moved the hair covering the Jewel on Akira's head and then a bright flash happened. Once everything subsided, the demon's body disappeared. Akira felt a surged of new powers coursing through his body. The Demon fused it's soul with Akira's giving the strength the young Inugami was striving for.

"I'm always with you...even in death...Never forget who you are and what I taught you...."

These words echoed on for a while before Akira decided to change his ways and train to hone the new 'gifts' his Father gave him. Returning to the lair, he grabbed the swords and said a prayer. It was then the Markings on his body started to glow. He vowed not to let his feelings get in the way of his loved one ever again. He left the lair after and went on a journey to find himself. Through his travels he was challenge by many demons who had the same goals of his past self. He went through many battles until he was known to be one of the most feared demons in all the land. He wore a mask to  further intimidate his opponents and to further accentuate his canine qualities.

He passed by a village one day and noticed it in a state of turmoil. Humans were being slaughtered left and right. Akira being enraged by this went off to find the cause of this mess. He found an oni with an incredible aura, murdering more humans. His name was Nobuo. Outraged, Akira pulled out his sword ready to fight. The Oni thinking that Akira was nothing but a pushover accepted his challenge to fight. They battled until they bought exhausted themselves. Akira finding new found strength was able to overwhelm the oni and send him off with a warning: To never harm another human again or the next time he catches him in the act, Akira will end his life. The oni disappeared and was the last he ever saw of him.....

200 years later, Akira was walking through the woods one night until he heard the cry of a little girl. Upon closer investigation, he found out that a child was being chased by a giant imp. Feeling sorry for the child, Akira slew the demon and helped her back to her village. He sensed a powerful amount of spiritual energy from her and wondered how the girl managed to acquire it. Once he got her back to the village he turned to leave but felt something cling to his leg. It was the little girl. He knelt down and tried to persuade her to go back to her home. Once the residents awakened, they wouldn't really throw Akira a party for finding the lost child. But the girl refused and wanted to stay with her new friend. Akira was intrigued by the aura the girl possessed and promised to meet her everyday in the woods so they can play. The girl jumped up and down in glee and hugged his leg tightly before running back to her hut.

The next day, she ran out to the woods, looking for the strange demon and just like he promised, he was there waiting for her. Her name was Ishihara and Akira played with and protected her through the years until it was time for her to take on the duties of being a Priestess. She trained a lot and eventually their meetings became futher apart. One day, he was waiting for Ishi to appear. Something was wrong because the scent he picked up was one of a demon. It was a familar scent with a powerful aura. Gripping onto the hilt of his Tamashii sword tightly, he turned to meet the weird presence and to his suprise it was Nobuo. 

"You....." He snarled, remembering the lives that were ended at the hands of this demon. 

The Oni laughed and hid his face with his Fan. "I came here to murder a girl...but I think you'll be more satisfying~" The oni replied. 

Akira, seeing red, pulls out one of his swords. "You touch her and I'll send your soul TO HELL!" He roared and charged after him, causing them to go into another vicious battle.

Ishihara, who was done with her training for the day, set out of find Akira. What she was really met with though was two demons violently battling each other. Nobuo sensed Ishihara's presence and turned his attention towards her, lunging right at her. 

Akira ran infront of her and took the damage for her. A blow that damaged his shoulder and knocked his mask off, revealing his face. Ishihara became scared to death from all of this and screamed, "STOP IT!" running off for her own safety. Akira, heartbroken at Ishi and upset she ran away was worse than his mask being knocked off.

Nobuo, for a mysterious reason, started to feel bad after all that happened. He picked up Akira's mask and handed it back to him asking for a truce. Akira still felt bitter but eventually gave in to his request. He didn't see much of Ishihara afterwards which saddened him because they developed a strong bond, but he understood that even sometimes the closest of friends eventually fade away and after that fight with Nobuo, Akira was sure that he damaged his relationship with her. 

After he healed and was about to get back to his journey, he was summoned with Nobuo to guard the Rokon-no-Tama jewel along with Ishihara. Glad to be sharing this duty with Ishihara, Akira renewed his bond with the both of them as they guarded the jewel. That is, until the burden of being the Guardians caused them to have different views on the its fate. The differences weighed on the jewel, eventually making it split and shatter into many pieces causing them to scatter all over the land. 

Now, just like the other Guardians, he searches for the shards to return the jewel back to it's former glory and to use it to rid the world of those who pray on the weak for fun, those with evil in their hearts, and only to make the word a justified place.

• He chooses not to have his tail shown when he's in his normal form.
• His face remains hidden behind his mask. Only the other guardians know what it looks like.
• There is a marking on his lower back where his tail would be in the shape of a prayer bead. It's sensitive to touch.
• When he's alone travelling or meditating, He's sometimes communicating with souls. Some myth says that he's usually talking to the soul of the demon who took care of him. Others say he's trying to help the souls move on and find their way. Another myth says he's communicating with the souls of his siblings that lost their lives the same way but remained lost forever.
• Sometimes to lighten up the mood of his friends, he either turns into a puppy, Makes his tail appear or act more like a Dog to cheer then up.
• Akira and Nobuo have a Love/hate relationship
